Smoke-Free Public Places Bylaws, 2002

Successfully lobbied & supported the Towns of Wolfville & Berwick to become 100% smoke-free. Wolfville was the first Municipality in Nova Scotia to enact such  a bylaw. This set the stage for Provincial Smoke Free Places legislation. See our Public Policy Advocacy step-by-step guide.

 

Projects

Smoke Free Kings received funding from Health Canada in March 2003 to pull together interested youth, partners and volunteers to explore ways to promote smoke free spaces in schools, homes and communities. Smoke Free Kings was awarded funding that resulted in a two-part project

A Smoke Free Homes and Vehicles Campaign “We Share the Air”

and

Piloting the “Smoke Free Spaces Youth Advocacy Tool Kit”
(developed by Health Canada)
